What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. It lets the site remember things between pages and between visits, such as whether you are signed in or what you had part-way through a booking.
The cookies we use
Strictly necessary
These make the site work and cannot be switched off. They keep you signed in to an account, hold your booking while you move through the steps, and protect forms against automated abuse. Your part-finished booking is also stored in your browser so that reloading the page does not lose it.
Functional
These remember preferences, such as choices you have made on the site. Without them some parts of the site are less convenient but still work.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics, through Google Tag Manager, to see which pages are used and where people give up, so we can fix what is not working. We also use Contentsquare, which records how visitors scroll, click and move around our pages, so we can see where a page is confusing and improve it. These cookies are only set if you agree.
Advertising
If you agree, Google Ads cookies record when a visit from one of our adverts leads to a booking or an enquiry, so we can tell which adverts work. They are only set if you agree.
Third parties
Address autocomplete on our booking forms uses Google Maps, card payments use Stripe, and the live chat window uses Tawk.to. Each may set its own cookies when that part of the site loads. Their own privacy notices explain what they collect.
Controlling cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the booking flow working. Where we ask for consent, you can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
